Celebrate the Dog Days of
Summer at ‘Yappy Hour’ Fundraiser
New Haven:
Claire’s Corner Copia and Basta Trattoria will host a fundraiser
to benefit adoptable animals at The Robin I. Kroogman New Haven
Animal Shelter on Friday, August 20, 2010, from 6 to 8:30 p.m..
Yappy Hour is a chance for dogs
and their owners to mingle at Claire’s outdoor patio area at
1000 Chapel Street. All dogs must be leashed, licensed,
vaccinated and ready for tail-wagging.
Live music performed by Wry Bred!
Tickets are $25 per person/dog,
which includes one martini or smoothie, a plateful of Claire’s
tasty appetizers, and a bone-shaped cake. Canine
participants will receive a water bowl, a bag of organic doggie
treats, and a bandana, courtesy of TD Bank. Several raffle
items—for dogs and humans alike—will be available. Tickets

The Friends of The New Haven
Animal Shelter is a 20-year-old non-profit volunteer
organization that works directly with The Robin I. Kroogman New
Haven Animal Shelter, providing adoption services, socialization
for dogs and cats at the shelter, medical support, and foster
care, among other services.

Isalata Misto - Organic mesculin greens
with marinated grilled asparagus and wood-fire roasted organic
grape tomatoes tossed with extra virgin olive oil, organic
lemon juice, Sicilian sea salt, and cracked black pepper.
Garnished with shaved parmesan cheese.
Panna Cotte - Escarole and organic withe
beans cooked with
extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and homemade bread, finished in
our wood-burning oven with Parmesan Reggiano cheese.
Rissoto del Giorno - The classic Arborio
rice dish, created daily by our chefs.
Mozzarella in Corozza - Locally
produced, fresh mozzarella sandwiched between our homemade
bread, lightly battered, and fried in organic soybean oil.
Served with our basil scented marinara.
Farfalle Funghi - Organic tri-color bow
tie pasta, in a light sauce of button, crimini, portabello, and
porcini mushrooms, prosciutto, cream, and Marsala wine.
Pollo Campania - Free-range, all natural
chicken breast sauteed in extra virgin olive oil with roasted
organic grape tomato, shallot, and Greco Di Tufo wine. Finished
with just a touch of cream.
Fillet of Bronzino, Piccata style -
Grilled Bronzino in a lemon, caper, and white wine butter sauce

garlic butter with organic lemon zest and parsley.

salad of organic greens, caramelized onion, roasted organic
tomato, and grilled asparagus, drizzled with extra virgin
olive oil from Apuglia, fresh organic lemon juice, and sea
salt from Sicily. A bottle of Peroni beer (or an Italian
